Jangan gelak weh. Itu tangga pegi Hogwarts tu. Cuba naik kalau tak percaya.
Well, kalau tak sampai alam Hogwarts,
setidaknya sampai alam Barzakh la kan.

Selamat hari natal

Thursday, December 24, 2009

Well, unless they're ipods, iphones or some carats of bling-bling, if you know what i mean.

Diorang dah berani demand sebab diorang tahu mak bapak diorang yang beli benda-benda tu semua. Santa kini hanyalah bekas ikon yang menyedihkan, dengan perut buncit macam minum todi, janggut putih panjang yang berangan rival kambing dan well, kerabunan tahap ajaib (sebab santa pakai spek mata, kan?). Eww, like, contacts, maybe?

Santa is no longer the man everybody waits for.

Bila dah besar, peh, kebendenya Santa... gua boleh beli sendiri la hadiah-hadiah idaman hati - and I get to keep the cookies and milk for myself lagik.

Jadi adik-adik, jika anda semua masih di bawah umur dan masih ala-ala main cop tiang atau tindih2 pemadam kat sekolah di waktu rehat, just cherish these silly but fun 'idea' that your parents/elder ones encourages you to. Ianya tak bodoh, sayang. Jika pun kamu dah tahu ianya bohong sunat, kamu layankan aje la. Use your imagination. Ia menggalakkan minda untuk berkembang.

Nanti bila dah tua bangka macam saya, dah tak boleh dah nak buang tebiat gantung stokin, tinggal biskut ngan susu atas meja. Habis kena terrorize dengan kucing. Esok, rumah dah macam warzone dah.

Selamat Hari Natal kepada semua yang menyambutnya, and don't ever forget the magic it brings!

Another Award!

Tuesday, December 15, 2009

Selepas satu kejutan, datang kejutan lagi :D
(bayangkan mode gumbira ajaib)

Terima kasih banyak Amer! Apatah lagi nak buat coding sendiri. Lagi jahanam.

Terima kasih sekali lagi, Amer!

Surprise from Kak Emila!

Monday, December 14, 2009

Serious?"

Mau tak terbeliak mata saya bila Roxy mengangguk -- Kak Emila beri present untuk saya juga! Wohoo!

Saya bertukar menjadi beruang akibat terlalu seronok.

Sebuah mini-organizer buatan tangan dan key-chain beruang chomel!

Terima kasih Kak Emila!

Saya belum guna lagi mini-organizer tersebut... mungkin nak guna sebagai makeup brush organizer kot. Maklumlah, ada orang tu tak habis-habis suruh saya beli makeup brush set yang proper. Saya ni jenis belasah saja apa-apa brush. Tapi mau tiga tahun baru penuh kot organizer tu, hehe.

Thanks so much Kak Emila!

The Ringtone Meme

Thursday, December 03, 2009

The Bizarro cartoons are hilarious!

Here's a meme that I've been meaning to post for a long time. I've been putting it off because at the time I was tagged with this, I felt a little bit more matang than always, and felt that this meme was a bit too teenager-ish for me. However, I have landed back on earth now *tsk tsk* and as someone has kindly pointed to me, I will always be a little more immature juvenile at heart than others of my age, so here goes nothing :)

Judging a person's personality just by hearing his/her ringtone is akin to judging a content of a book by its cover. But in today's wonderful world of technology, who has only one ringtone? People nowadays would have at least three different ringtones (family, friends, general). And then there's sms alert, alarms... the list goes on. This meme will show the type of music you are interested in and the pattern of your musical choices will then give a glimpse (geekword: dropshadow) of your personality.

Proceed to answer these questions...

THE RINGTONE MEME - Name Three Ringtones You Have Used As Your:

General Ringtone:
Knight Rider Theme
Tender - Blur
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles (current)

Family Ringtone:
Love Today - Mika
Jaded - Aerosmith
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles (current)

Friends Ringtone:
Back To Black - Amy Winehouse
Austin Powers Theme
Joga - Bjork (current)

Sms Alert:
Homer Simpson's "Holy Macaroni" script
Abdul Wahib's "Kaki Diorder Dari Egypt" pantun
Mario Bros theme during underground scene (current)

Alarm: <-- these are chosen according to their bingitness!
Ellie's Scat - Sony Ericcson's
Umbrella - Rihanna
Respect - Aretha Franklin (current. Bila Aretha meroyan, sape pun akan bangun!)

Hmm... so what do you think of my list? What have you learned (or guessed) by reading it?

I am tagging three people I'd want to try to know more about:

Everyone is invited to do this meme. Do leave a link to your blog in my comment box so I can check your list out :)

are you rejecting my ideas?

Tuesday, December 01, 2009

I'm sure most of you would probably have gone through idea rejection. I've had my share of idea kecundang, and will continue to have my supposedly-bordering-to-genius ideas go down the drain.

The first few times I got shot down in the boardroom (or rather meeting room), I was quite defensive about it. Back then I was the youngest and was supposed to bring the freshest ideas to the table - so when I got the No to stuff I suggested/ drafted, I was crushed. Having demanding kuku besi clients didn't help either. It took me quite some time to understand that rejections are okay, and that my clients weren't being vindictive or had any personal vendetta against me; they simply wanted the best for their products too. Most of the time, anyway.

(In advertising lingo, client means anyone whom you're serving/working for, and product would be whatever you're working on.)

Rejection is always painful, but they help, or rather, force you to see things differently. Sometimes we think that we have the best ideas, but there will always be another side of the coin that you've never noticed before, no matter how many times you've flipped it.

"Two heads are better than one" rings truth. Just make sure not too many strong-opinionated heads are being put in charge because as another famous saying mentioned "Too many cook spoils the broth." I've had this happen to me too, and rectifying this kind of mess is a bigger pain in the ass.

I've learned that the best way to handle a rejection is by:
1. Having an open mind
2. Listening to reasons of rejection (people usually rub this in)
3. Take a deep breath or count to ten, and
4. start thinking of options

Being in the advertising industry, I'd be facing massive amounts of idea rejection by clients, at least until I quit lah. So why wallow in misery? Rather than be the sourpuss of the team, why not be positive and find solutions to any mind barricades coming your way, right?

After all, the only thing to do when you've tersadung tergolek dog is to get up and start walking again :)

I'm sharing with you guys these wonderful drawings made by Scott Campbell, an artist from San Francisco. His depiction of how creative ideas are usually crushed in the working industry is point blank.
