"So this is it?" he asked quietly. It sounded more like a whisper and less like the booming thunder it usually was.
I gathered myself. I knew I could never get back to the place where I was before, and I would not let my destiny be carved by those whom do not care of if I thrive or wilt.
I looked straight into his eyes and with what bravado I could muster, said "You've had your moment of glory, but I have unmanned you. All cards are on the deck, and who has the upper hand now?"
With that, I left the room. Going out, his reflection in the glass wall showed a man stripped naked of all his pride.
I could only smile.
